Protecting water resources is seen as a major task of security forces around the world, as water poisoning is seen as a possible terrorist threat. Water resources are, however, usually located in remote locations exposed to pollution and damage.
The government of Israel assigned Remmon in 2005–6 to protect several water reservoirs throughout the country. The system provided by Remmon included sensors and local protection, an online system and a Web control management system.
By using R-LOG GPRS to contact the local security system (CADDEX), all data is broadcast to a central control center. The government is provided with a Web control system for system management. Moreover, in critical situations text messages are sent directly to the end user’s cellular phone.
Water quality
Managing swimming pools requires close and strict supervision of the water quality. Health authorities require pool operators to maintain a certain level of chlorine, redox, temperature, and more.
Remmon, which provides cleaning equipment for swimming pools, robots and supervising systems for water quality, was assigned in by Hydrofarm to provide a control and management system that would transfer all the data to a central control center.
Hydrofarm allows its clients to receive all the crucial information in real time, including an SMS message when one of the indicators is higher than it should be.
The information is provided by Remmon’s by using an R-LOG GPRS end unit, which transmits all the data to an HMI system, developed by Remmon. This cheap, reliable and professional tool allows the swimming pool management to supervise water quality in real time and sends data to the health authorities. The system can be connected to dozens of units at the same time and provides professional graphic tools to analyze the information.
