The R-COM is a general purpose GSM/GPRS RTU. The R-COM ensures that no matter where you are, crucial information will find its way straight to your cellphone in the form of SMS messages. Real-time information is sent to your device according to the specific settings of your R-COM. When off-site, in addition to predefined setting information, you can ask your R-COM for information as well; simply send an SMS inquiry to get an immediate answer.

The R-COM provides 24/7 global communication coverage for automatic SMS alert messages, SMS I/O inquiries and SMS I/O settings. Versatile, reliable and quickly configured, the R-COM is a cost-effective, DIN rail mountable RTU, featuring up to 6 A/I, 8 D/I, 2 D/O and 1 EIA RS232 serial port.
RTU Configuration Software
All automatic settings are done by the CONFIGURATOR software. This easy-to-use RTU configuration software provides a user-friendly environment for setting the R-COM behavior. It supports both local and remote download/upload for easy PC-RTU data transformation.
Communication
R-COM uses the popular GSM/GPRS network to transmit and receive data. No need for expensive antennas, frequency licensing or a power-consuming radio transmitter. No need to deal with transmission interruptions or worry about distance limitations. Simply use the R-COM to get highly effective communication results, thus saving time and money.
PLC External Device
The R-COM can be used either as a standalone unit, or it can be connected to a PLC. When connected to a PLC, the R-COM controls the PLC I/Os and registers. It serves as a cellular gateway, enabling completely interactive mobile communication between you and your PLC. Adjustable, reliable and easy-to-use, the R-COM is a versatile PLC interfaced communication tool, supporting Modbus, Unitronics, Hostlink and many other serial communication protocols.
Settings
The R-COM provides both automatic-alert and user-interference services. CONFIGURATOR You are free to configure the automatic-alert behavior of the R-COM to meet your specific needs. The R-COM built-in user-interference system makes it possible to set/get registers and I/O values from the comfort of your mobile phone. You can simply send an SMS message to set the digital output value, turn it on/off, obtain I/O values, set the time and date, set/get register values and more.
