Q1. There are various references to R-LITE X1 and X2 models. What is the difference between the two models?

A1. X1 refers to the legacy R-LITE appliance, which was declared end-of-life two years ago. The X2 model is the current version.

Q2. What is the difference between R-LOG GPRS and R-LOG WEB?

A2. Initially R-LOG GPRS referred to the capability to send data online. Since we are introducing a new version of R-LOG that will support the UMTS modem and will have the same capabilities, we have changed the naming to R-LOG MAIL and R-LOG WEB, based on the intended use of the product.

Q3. What do the letters “S.A.” stamped on the package cover of the unit stand for?

A3. S.A is the acronym used for "specific application", indicating that a proprietary protocol or a customized project was burnt to the unit firmware.

Q4. How can I download a configuration file to the R-LOG WEB unit via the website?

A4. You need to follow the steps below:
  • In the RTEC software, right click on the unit name.
  • Click on Advanced >Export configuration to file.
  • Select a folder and provide a name for the configuration file.
  • In the Remmon MTOM website, select the unit you want to download the file to.
  • In the unit’s main screen, click the Management Tab and select Download.
  • Browse to the configuration file you created (*.dat) and select it.
  • Download the file and wait for notification that the download completed successfully.

Q5. I am unable to download the configuration file for the R-LOG WEB unit via the website.

A5. Make sure that the unit is online and that the green LED is lit up in the Real Time screen, located in the top right corner.

Q6. The unit data is not visible on the MTOM website.

A6. follow the steps below:
  • Try to expand the time schedule of the data window (last month, etc.) to see data for a longer period.
  • Make sure that the unit is switched on and connected to the cellular network.
  • Make sure that unit’s serial number (below the unit name on the MTOM server) and type are correct.
  • Retry logging in to the website.

Q7. When trying to open unit window at the website a message: unit is not available appear?

A7.Contact your distributor to activate the unit

Configuration/Set Up Questions

Q8. What is a “template” and how is it imported to RTEC?

A8. Templates are a set of addresses at the PLC that are read by the RLOG. Templates can only be configured by the RLOG distributor. Once you have a new template you can import it to the RTEC software by following the steps below:
  • In the RTEC menu bar, select Setting > Manage template.
  • In the Template Manager window, click the "Import" button.
  • Select the template file (*.UTemp).
  • Close the Template Manager window.
  • In the new unit’s Welcome tab, select the Template Set and then select the template that will be used to create the unit. The PLC registers will appear at the I/O tab of the unit configuration.

Q9. The unit is not available on the cellular network.

A9. Make a trial according to the following steps:
  • Check the network LED; it should blink once every 2-3 seconds.
  • Make sure that the unit is not busy with other processes (e.g. restarting).
  • Check that the SIM card is enabled by inserting into a mobile phone.
  • Disable the SIM card PIN code if enabled. 

Q10. The unit doesn't send an SMS after setup.

A10. Make a trial according to the following steps:
  • Make sure that you downloaded the project to the unit.
  • Make sure that your cell phone is configured to receive the SMS and that the number is correct.
  • Try to dial to the unit to check if the unit is available via the cellular network.
  • Make sure that your SIM card is SMS enabled by inserting it to a mobile phone and trying to send an SMS. Disable the SIM card PIN code if enabled.
